| The sun was high in the sky, pushing away even the smallest of shadows from sight. The sun's rays filled the enormous room, showing how empty this place really was. Only two people were in the library at that time. The librarian and a girl buried beneath a large pile of thick leather bounded books. The cherry wood floor carried the hard steps of the librarian as she put back the books that were laying out on the tables. Soothing piano music filled the room from a small stereo that stood at the back of the room. Every note could be heard clearly, the music seemed to tell a story. Looking around the room, there were books as far as the eye could see. Three levels that wrapped around the entire building. If there was a book you wanted this place had atleast two copies of it. At a table, a girl sat hunched over a book thicker than the dictionary. Her eyes were blood shot she was exhausted, she had been reading all night long. She was a history major, it seemed all she ever did was read. On her desk, there were atleast ten stacks of books. As she read her mind started to wander and started to imagine herself in the lives of the men and women she was reading about. She wished her life was more exciting, heck she wished she had a life at all. If she wasnt at her home she was usually at school or the library. |

| Lyo was not normally one for libraries, places of higher learning or places of silence.. it was FAR to happy to hang out in bars, fighting rings, brothels, and the occasional small city inn. So to find the Elvish assassin inside of this structure was not only rare., but unheard of… Then again finding Lyo when he wanted to remain hidden was also unheard of. Yet contrary to standard normalcy there he was surrounded by books, not smoking a pipe, and quietly reading…. Of course he wasn’t sitting at a table.
No hidden above where any would look was the dark silhouette of the Elven rogue. High up in the rafters using the multi colored light shining through a nearby stained-glass window to peruse over the tome in his hands. Below him for a long while had sat a fairly attractive gal that was looking over some form on work. He could feel how tired, and bored she was at reading the tome like a nagging knot one would feel in their shoulder after a hard work out. Needless to say it was distracting him.
So to answer the pesky exhaustion in the dry-eyed girl far beneath him Lyo would grin. Silently set his own book down and from his own personal hiding spot in the shadows he would use a light burst of his telekinetic power to knock a pile of her books over. Creating a cataclysmic domino effect as two other piles erupted into motion and made both a loud noise, and an awful mess as the three falling piles scattered her other ones both on the desk and to the floor in a wonderful chain reaction of chaos._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! | *She jumped up knocking her chair over, her eyes running over all the books were scattered everywhere. How did they fall? Did she knock them over? With a soft sigh she got on her knees and started to pick up the books that were on the floor putting them on her table. Out of the corner of her eye she saw the short, scrawny librarian glaring at her for making such a racket. The lady was the typical librarian. She looked older then dirt and looked it too. It was hard to believe that she was once young, her face was covered in deep wrinkles her glasses balancing at the end of her nose. Half the books still laid on the floor, but she was too tired to even care. Sitting down completely she leaned back against the wall taking on of the books and ran her hands over the leather cover, feeling the engraved letters. Her eyes were closed as she sat there thinking about how she still had to put all these books back before she could go home. This would be a long night... |

| Lyo held in his snickering easily but his smile was easily visible on his face. Of course one had to be able to see him sitting above in the shadows of the rafters first.. But if they could they would see him grinning brightly at the mess he had just caused, and the scowl that the girl had been given from the librarian. With the smile still implanted on his lips happily he sent a few mental thoughts to the librarian and she would soon be scurrying off to deal with some book she thought she just remembered shuffling into the wrong section of the library a task that might take her hours to figure out was impossible.
But once the old hag was gone Lyo would continue to play tricks on the young lady below him. at first it would be small ones. The volume on the radio would be slowly decreased, and the other sounds of the library muffled as he staunched the motions in the air particles so that the vibrations faded away. Sure it took a great deal of concentration to make it quieter. But once everything hushed down to near eerie levels the real fun would begin . And he could freely practice his illusionary magic’s.
At first it would be simple tricks.. a thing in her peripheral vision.. The sound of creaking floorboards over heard… Simple things that might make one think a ghost was loose. That or the over worked mind was inventing things to be paranoid about…. Then a gentle nudge to the book under her hand, not enough to make it move.. But enough t make it feel like it had._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! I QUIT ! ! " |

| *She had cleared the floor and put back up the stacks of books, when she noticed the volume of the stereo decreasing, odd sounds in the library and she even felt a nudge on the book. Her rational mind stopped the paranormal thoughts before they even started. She practically lived in this library and nothing like this had ever happened before. Someone was causing all this, but who? Slowly she looked around ignoring the things she thought she saw. As her eyes went over all the tables and aisles around her, she realized she was alone. If anyone had come in, she would have heard their footsteps. As she continued to glance around, the thing she was looking for hit her ears. A laugh..no not a laugh a quite almost silent snicker. There was someone. How did they get past her? If they werent standing in one of the aisles, where could they be. Then it hit her. As slowly as she could she looked up into the rafters. Quickly her hazel eyes moved from left to right trying to follow the sound of the snicker. It was hard for her to see from where she was sitting so she strained her eyes harder. Suddenly she froze her eyes glued to one spot. She wasn't completely sure, but she had a good feeling that she was seeing someone's outline. A person had been watching her all this time and she didnt even know it. Immediately her mind went through all the people she knew trying to come up with who could be doing this and why. It couldnt be anyone she knew. Frankly, she didnt know that many people and none of them could have gotten all the way up there. Especially without making a sound. She lowered her head back to her book and started to read. Softly she said, "You know it's not nice to play tricks on someone." |

| Lyo smiled as she looked around ignoring the false poltergeists. She was on to him he could sense it in her thoughts. This amused him greatly; few ever went looking for a trickster instead of ghosts these days. Eventually her eyes looked high enough that she seemed t have spotted him, or at least his hiding place. He was partially tempted to teleport away and keep himself hidden by constantly hiding in places already looked over. But the waste of power wasn’t worth it.
Her words gently rolled up to the heights in which he hid and he couldn’t help but smile and speak to her. His voice held a light accent, but the origins of it were very hard to trace... After all his people died out more than five hundred years ago, and no one spoke the dialect any more. Not that he did not thin this was a good thing…
“Who ever claimed that a man hidden in a shadow would be nice?”
A moment later he would vanish from where he was, and reappear with a light popping sound elsewhere. More specifically on the table she had been using before all of this nonsense began/ his soft soled boots crossed and his dark cloak covering most of his body… Though the swords visible on his back gave away that he was likely not a nice man, and if they did not then that daggers in his boots might push one further to that idea… His face was hidden under the hood, but also under a light spell that made the shadows harder to pierce then normal to keep his identity unknown to her for now.
One leather and metal covered hand came out and waved lightly to her, the mythril gauntlet shining as did his mythril bracers and greaves… there was no doubt about it, this man was armed, armored and likely not here for good reasons…. But yet… why had he not done what ever evil dead he was here to do?(Sorry the post is so out there... My muse has been on vacaction)_________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! | She looked ůp at the man that sat infront of her. Her book laid in her lap as she gave him a slight nod. She had to bite her tongue not to laugh. Even though no man had ever appeared infront of her, it all seemed to planned. Like he was trying to impress her. She moved a strand of hair behind her ear and spoke softly. "If you are trying to impress me with this appearance act it didn't work. And I never said you were a nice guy, but from what i've seen, if I had said that I would have been sadly mistaken. You're more of a smartass than a nice guy." Normally, she wouldn't say that to a guy, she was nev er that forward, but there was nothing else to say. Even if a person was the most rude, cold hearted person she would lie and say something about him, but she couldn't lie to this person. Standing, she grabbed her book "now if you will excuse me" she hummed softly as she walked away putting her book back on the shelf. Her walking away was in hopes she would seem calm and smooth. She didnt want him to see that he actually did get to her. Everything he did, actually did scare her. Not really scare her, but intimidate her. This was no man to mess with that's for sure. Who knew what he would do next. Walking down an aisle, she looked for the right place to put her book back, her eyes scanned the code on the book looking for its sequence. |

| Lyo couldn’t help but smile, his grin barely visible in the swirling darkness under his hood. It should have been very apparent to her that he was not that tall, and very likely not that old. His 5’8” height was not generally that intimidating, and nor was his thin frame. Of course to counter point that he was wearing armored gauntlets, and several weapons. It was clear he cold not be as frail as he looked, or when he moved it would not be as fluid. And every motion he made was extremely fluid.
“Of course”
He said as she asked to be excused, and moved about to reshelf her book based on the code on its spine. When she walked away he smiled, and remained seated on the desk, though he rotated his body lightly so that he was still constantly facing where she was.
A few seconds later, he popped back into existence leaning on the bookshelf as she slipped the tome she was reading into its comfortable dusty home. “Still, even if your not impressed that doesn’t mean I am not going to do my job, and for you. This spells a minor problem.” He smiled “After all its kinda hard to suck necks, with out teeth.”
Outwardly he smiled, and the cloaking shadows under his hood showed her his elongated fanged grin. Inwardly he was ready for nearly any move she would make, his psionic powers summoned and ready to be put to use to defend himself or attack her in the next breath._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! | *She closed her eyes after she heard his words and took a deep breathe then looked at him. Anyone would be terrified at someone telling them they would be dead in the next three minutes, and most would run screaming. She never understood why the girls ran in the horror movies, they always got caught. Running just made their death ten times worse. She took a step back and leaned against the bookshelf that was behind them. There was no hint of being scared in her eyes, she didn't want to die, but she didnt fear it. Everyone was going to die.As she stood there she sighed thinking about everything she wouldn't see again, the people she would miss. Looking up at him she spoke, "If you are going to do it then do it. I'm not going to run or scream. What's the point of putting up a fight." She looked around and saw no one around. They were all alone except for that stupid librarian, but she wasn't good for anything to say the least. |

| “Very well then”
Was all he said as his hand moved under his cloak and then subtly into his pouch of holding. Instantly a thought moved a blade in his pouch and the cool leather grip was in his hand. Nevertheless, the entire time his eyes sat watching her for any sign of falseness, any sign of a surprise attack. He was not one to trust another’s words. After all, the guilty never believe the innocent; they always assume that they are dealing with someone as corrupt as themselves. And sadly the innocent never think as dirty as those taking advantage of them.
The instant the knife was in hand he acted. Blade cleared pouch as if it were a hidden sheath and the motion of his arm become easily traceable. IF she held to her words and let him attack, she would find the dagger drawn, flipped, and plunged into her stomach just under her belly button. And then through her expertly enough to be millimeters away from her spine.
But that was not the end of what was done. The reason for the exact placement of the blade was to nail her to the shelving behind her. To pin her in place for the actually painful part of what was to come. The removal of her fangs. If he managed the stab with out her dodging, or moving the dagger would be sunk to its cross-guard in her, and that would leave several inches in the hard wooden shelf. True if she were strong enough that might not stop her for long, but being stabbed through the stomach was indeed extremely unpleasant and he was betting she would be overly worried with the agony and not with retaliation at this second._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! | Her eyes went to his hand as he moved it under his cloak. She knew she was going to die. Now there was no hint of uncertainty in it. Her head screamed, "Run! Run you fool!", but it was too late now. There was no way out. Even if she tried, he would still kill her. When the knife went into her stomach she doubled over and let out a scream. Her hand fell onto his arm, tears started to flood from her eyes and down her cheeks as the pain grew. Blood started to stain the end of her shirt and her jeans. Knowing she was pinned to the bookstore, she leaned back. It wasn't a good idea to move as the wound grew bigger, her skin ripping. Taking a deep breath she looked at him holding back the rest of the tears. "Please kill me now..I can't take the pain..I told you I wouldn't fight nor run. I've held up my promise so please spare me from any more pain." |

| (( did you get my pm?))He smiled as she didn’t try to dodge his blade, which sunk deep into her and the shelf as planned. If one couldn’t stake a vampire with a wooden spike through the heart nailing them to the ground, this was an amusing alternative. But staking her was not the goal, then again. Nor was killing her. Expectedly she buckled partially under the pain of the dagger piercing her body, but showing more control then most she stood back up as the blood flowed from her, Dark vitae staining her shirt and spilling lower over her pants. Ah, such a sweet smell.
“Who said I was killing you lovely? I said I was taking your fangs.”
Lyo smiled, and in that grin the cloaking shadows dropped from him completely. Ashen skin and a tribal tattoo covering the left side of his face was revealed easily. So was shocking violet hair and deep enchanting green eyes. If they had meet under any other terms it was possibly she might swoon over his good looks just like most girls did thanks to the curse that was bestowed on him centuries ago. But with a blade sunk deep into her gut it was unlikely she would think him cute.
A flash of motion would happen from his right hand sending his cloak flying open as he struck. It would be a flat open palmed strike to her forehead crashing her skull into the books behind her, but also cracking the base of her skull onto a bookshelf at its level. the goal was simple, he wanted her stunned, or unconscious, either very likely from the force he was using in his un-telegraphed attack on her person._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! | A human's greatest fear is dying. Mainly because we do not know what lies beyond. The second after he told her he was going to take her fangs, a lump grew in her throat and a shiver ran down her spine. Losing her fangs is worse then death to her. If she lost her fangs, it would be harder for her to feed, she would die a slow painful death. If death is what you would call it. She felt her skull crack when he forced her head back, but she fought the darkness back. She wanted to speak with him before she would be knocked out. "Why do you want my fangs? Please tell me..." She closed her eyes looking away, she never did anything wrong. Telling him she was different was like telling him there were ghosts. He wouldn't believe her. Most likely he would think she is just trying to talk her way out of this. |

| The pain and sock of the blow to her head was not yet enough to debilitate her it seemed. But then again she was a vampire, and they did tend to have some level of resiliency. Her words rolled out almost sweetly, though the subject matter was indeed a bit morbid. The question now was ‘would he answer her’ and as of yet he himself was uncertain. Her head seemed to slump a bit, and her eyes closed as no doubt self pity kicked in.. AHH, the wonderful feelings being released from her mind.
What he had yet to tell her was how he was already feasting on her emotions, and suffering. Not all vampires yielded to a simple addiction to blood, No he wasn’t that kind of evil. He was a psychic vampire, a demon that would feast on the feelings and emotions of those around him. The most potent were love and fear, and nothing was more terrifying then the fear of death.
Generally the being that ran this body was not this twisted, but every now and then he had to let his other half slip out for a nip, he had to allow the demon within him time to feast and play, unfortunately for Rhiannon, tonight was one of those nights, and she the victim it had found…
“Because I want to hear you cry out in pain, I want to hear the sound of your whimpering and begging… and then when all is lost I want you to know that I took more from you than can be regained.”_________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! I QUIT ! ! " |

| His answer seemed to do the opposite effect then he wanted. All of the fear she felt was gone. In one second the fear was replaced with anger and hatred. There was no more pain, no more sorrow and her skull healed in just a few seconds. Her eyes glared into his. Reaching around she firmly grasped the knife and pulled it out with little effort and the wound closed up. "I am sorry to inform you, but I will not beg and I will not cry anymore vampire. Ive had my share of run-ins with your kind and you are the first to pin me against a wall. Literally. You can tear me from limb to limb, drain my blood slowly or stab me I will not beg for mercy." Gripping the knife in her hand the feeling of plunging it into him was something she wanted to do more than anything right now. But her bettter judgement kicked in and she wasn't going to give him the benefit of the doubt. "Dying is not a fear of mine. I have lived so long, death seems like a nice permanent vacation to the beach to me. I've had to deal with egocentric narcassitic men like yourself for way to long. If you want to play on fear or seduce someone find a pathetic human cause you will not get it from me." She threw the knife sending it into the bookcase infront of them, the blade going in all the way to the hilt. Sensing vampires was easy, but she let her guard down for once and ignored the signs. |

| Her anger grew quickly, but that did not mean he was going hungry. True enough anger as she felt it was still a darker emotion, and still worth feeding on. Her hand gripped the knife and she pulled it from the shelf, and her gut before the wound closed. But Lyo did not care. He was still certain of his ability to overpower her in other ways. And on top of that, even though the demon like victims that were unable to defend them selves breaking their spirit was fun as well.
“I doubt you have ever seen another such as I” the demon smiled pulling down his hood to reveal his ashen like skin clearly “But its better if I show you than tell you I think “The beast smiled wickedly again and wit no warning triggered a psionic power. A powerful concussive blast aimed her direction. One that would have a loud echoing boom following it as the disturbance grew. But the boom was not the important part, it was the raw kinetic energy that caused it.
like a bomb was going off she would have a blast aimed at her that would be powerful enough to send her and the oversized bookcase behind her flying backwards, possibly hitting hard enough to actually send her through this bookshelf and crashing over into the next before the first fell and started a domino effect of toppling shelves that would rearrange this entire section of the library. However, not even a single sheet of paper behind him would flutter as all the energy discharge was aimed solely at her._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! I QUIT ! ! | Everything happened so fast she wasn't sure if anything actually happened. After blinking a few times she realized she was under a mountain of books. Standing up, she coughed and wiped some dust off of her. There wasn't even a scratch on her. Running her fingers through her hair she glared at him. "I dont have time for this. Wouldnt it be easier to go find a girl seduce her then torture her? Im sure you would get tons of food from her." |

| Lyo couldn’t help but laugh as the preverbal dust settled and the pages ripped from books fluttered around the newly created mess. Buried and only barely moving was his victim and all around them a giant, possibly impossible to clean mess of splintered wood and torn books. Oh how any bibliophile might cry at the fight going on inside a library. But before he would finish taking in the scene the books shifted and fell and out of the dust stood up Rhiannon, his lucky victim was unharmed so far.
“It might be, but I already found the girl I plan on seducing, torturing and terrorizing tonight pet. And soon enough you will realize how fruitless resisting me is. Everybody fears something, we just need to find out what it is that brings you to your knees.”
The demon smiled and she would hear doors locking all around them as the library seemed to seal itself off at all exits. Carefully the demon reached its left hand behind himself and gripped some hidden device under its cloak… If brute force did not work he would try another method of injuring her. Quickly he drew his pistol and cocked the flint hammer back. And pulled the trigger.
A split second latter dozens of small lead beads would race towards her faster then he had ever seen a vampire (or almost any other being) move. He dint thing this shotgun blast was going to do her in at all, but he needed to unload his gun before the spell on it could be activated. Besides the gunshot wound might actually help harm her better than the shelving had done._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me! I QUIT ! ! " |

| *She cocked her head to the side pretty confused on why he wanted to terrorize her, but oh well. He could try. She looked at the small round objects that came flying at her. Took in a deep breath, not to help with the pain, but to show that she was bored. The beads stopped a mere milimeters from her and hovered in the air. She looked at the beads as they fell to the ground and made a smal noise as they hit the hard wood floors. Knowing he was about to cast a spell, she picked up a book and began to read. There was no spell or bullet that could kill her. Knifes, stakes and the like could pierce her skin, but none of it would kill her and the wound would heal in a matter of seconds. She wasn't one to harm people and no matter what he did she was not planning on attacking him. Licking the tip of her finger she turned the page and her eyes grew wide as she stared at the page. "Did you know if there wasn't mucus lining your stomach, your stomach would eat itself? The human body isreally fascinating if you think about it." |

| The lead shot was avoided through some form of telekinesis but he didn’t care. He had only fired the gun to discharge it. After all, having dragon’s fire roar past gunpowder was bad for the weapon. No he was not about to cast a spell, merely trigger an enchantment placed on his weapon while he traveled the planes. The hammer was cocked again, but this time runes carved along the barrels length would begin to glow red, and then orange with heat welling up in the gun. All the while Lyo let her sit and get her book, he honestly didn’t mind torching the library to get what he wanted.
As soon as she was done speaking the gun fired again, only this time it sounded more like an angry roar then thunder, and it help barely any echo. Jets of searing hot flame would lash out from his gun in a nearly conical spread as they raced towards the girl trying to ignore him. many things were immune to heat, few to dragons fire. His aim would only hit her right side. aimed to hit arm, book and hip. But most of the blast would go beside her and scorch the wall and mess of papers around her setting them nearly instantly to ash. The marble pillars between him and her would crack from the blast of heat that passed through them and the same was true of the stone wall at her back.
He didn’t doubt that this would hurt her being as how it had maimed if not killed nearly everythgin it had ever been fired at before, and even if she was somehow actually unphased by the likely third degree burns this flame could cause the library was not going to be even a quarter as likely. The generated heat would rapidly catch almost a garter of this floor ablaze, and it would spread through the aged volumes of paper fast. the entire blast roaring form his gun would only last for three seconds, but the after effects could be felt long after as the room that had been close to seventy dregees was now heated to nearly ninety from the inferno he had released, and it was only going to get hotter, and filled with smoke form here on out._________________ Suicide is like telling god " You cant fire me!
