Title: Emperor of Tallendon

PostSubject: Re: Returning Home    Mon Jun 25, 2012 12:45 pm

He turned to regard the others for just a moment as he sat there in quiet contemplation and yet he felt another rumble take place upon the Kingdom, another Earthquake he got up looking around soldiers at there places, seeming nervous more then usual. Cirdan knew of the runagates below the Empire in Tallendon, it was how he got reinforcements if ever there was an attack, and as well transport goods and people but little does he know it exploded just then like a bomb going off.

As Cirdan turned to regard the others and with wide eyed he watched Esmeradian disappear and heard the howls of the whelps covering his sensitive ears, as they seem to echo across the whole Empire. He stumbled a bit as another shock wave hit them and rocks tumbling down upon the Palace one smashing his throne chair luckily for him he was off his chair then, would have been the end of him.

He cocked his head to the side looking at the chair smashing it to pieces; he elected to stay here behind upon the cataclysm he raised the bell alarms to evacuate as many did the guards running around escorting the people out. Whispers upon each other about how Cirdan would choose to remain behind to ensure every man and child and women was out of the city and Empire. Cirdan turned and walked towards the balcony of the Palace over looking the whole of the Empire as fires erupted from underground, several men stayed behind mostly the mages and scholars trying to use spells and magical wards to stop the rift with no success.

Cirdan never was much for religion as far as he was concerned but at that moment near the end of the world, it would seem evident. He prayed that the others got out safely, he looked upon the sky and saw Locke try and defend the Empire there was no hope and he knew it and knew the many possibilities ‘’ Get out of there ‘’ he shouted to him ‘’ Head for the waters help the refugees escape ‘’ he shouted loud enough and turning around it hit him.

He fallen over the railing as the shockwaves knocked him forward he accepted his fate long ago... he was fallen down to the ground and soon he would know no pain or fear his thoughts was on his wife the images of Kaline upon his mind and of his children who he never see again and his father. He thought of his life before he lived a good one, Cirdan had many regrets in his past life the sins he had committed, he knew he was not perfect. However, he prayed for a safe passage into the heavens and sought forgiveness and for the matter seeking peace, when the rift came upon him it seem to have taken hold of him.

Kaline was in her dragoness form as she soared high above the kingdom as she heard the commotion and the screams below her. Folding her wings a bit as she dipped below the clouds and saw the rift swallowing the kingdom. Her hues widened as she folded her wings in and dove toward the ground as she spotted Cirdan on the balcony shouting orders. Looking around as she watched everyone scattering as she didn't know what to do as she looked over to the other dragon as he was doing something. Spreading her wings as she let them slow her body down as she was hovering over the edge of the kingdom a few thousand feet in the air as she was going to land and run in to help.

All of a sudden she felt empty and cold as her hues snapped over to Cirdan. Her arm reached out to him as she watched the shock wave knock him over the balcony. There was nothing she could do as she was still to far away to even think about trying to rescuing him. Seeing him fall as the rift seemed to swallow him like a welcoming end. She clutched her chest as a rift seemed open there. She let out a horrifying shriek of pain and sadness escaped her lips as it echoed through the empire. It rang out and climbed in pitch and agony as she remained airborne for the time being. As it turned into a human scream, her wings stopped working as her body did a nose dive to the ground. Her wings failed to work as she watched the ground rush at her as her large body seemed to crash into it, leaving a massive dent as she bounced a bit and shifted into her elven form as she rolled to a stop. Her body tensed and cease as it was reacting to the unpredicted as well as sudden sever of the bond between Kaline and Cirdan. Gasping for air as she clawed at her chest as if to try and escape the pain that seared through her body. Her screams echoed through the forest, as her body writhed in pain, tears streamed down her cheeks. The black marks on her flesh seemed to move faster out of control as her wings seemed to have mangled in the landing as she finally fell silent as her body seized on last time as she gasped for air like a fish out of water.

Her mangled and broken body laid there unmoving as her eyes just blinked and her lips opened and closed gasping for air. It was unknown to anyone what happened if a bond was suddenly severed, but she was lost within her mind. Screaming in agony as it trickled through and emitted from her lips as her hand rested over her chest as it felt like herself was dying as she tried to roll over to her side. Unable to as she laid there and sobbed, just plainly screaming till her voice gave out.

It wasn't the first time Niserra had felt such violence up close, but it was a first time that she felt her own magics from the starry heavens react so.

Try as she might, she was not going to escape the pull of the rift. In a defensive effort, she slashed the air infront of her and formed a small singularity, then empowering it with her starry and lunar magic. It would not keep her from being pulled, but it would keep her from most of the heavy harm that might occur.

The last thing she remembered was her dragon form once again manifesting itself as she raced toward the center of the rift like some fired arrow, tugged by its unimaginable tides. She felt a strange confidence, though, that she would survive. It would be unknown what awaited her, but she had full confidence about one thing.

She would still be alive to tell about it, if there was anyone or anything still around to hear said tale. Which she was dubious about, to say the very least.

Meanwhile, in another world not too distant from this one, a stunning stellar display put on a show for all the mortal life to see. Not one, but a handful of blazing lights shot across a star studded sky, two moons nearly engulfing the light of the fiery blazes that streaked across the twilight and indigo velvet sky's. The first notice of such surprising lights, was in the topics far to the south of the more inhabited zones of this other world, eyes of all mortal life took notice though few understood what it could be. But then came the sound that followed the streaks of light that marred the otherwise peaceful nights sky. Screams, whether human, or not was something that was questioned among the mortal races that observed the fiery display. One thing was certain, something very strange had happened and not something so easily forgotten.

Thasrissian had barely heard Cirdan over the crackling and roar coming from the rift, but he was right there wasn't much he could do about this strange rift right now. Still his very nature had required he be set on the path that had led to his attempts to stop it. For a brief moment Thas stared straight ahead at the rift wondering what he could have overlooked, what he had missed before this rift tore open, and It eluded him. Soon after his moment to reflect on what was occurring Thasrissian broke away from the rift. It would gain momentum again that was true, but shortly after breaking away Thas channeled his power into what was perhaps the only thing he could do at this point.

Glowing runic shapes began appearing around the gray dragon, casting a brilliant golden hue towards the eyes of anyone who had been watching him instead of fleeing for safety. Once they appeared these runes arranged themselves into two circles around him, one of which began rapidly spinning counter-clockwise, the other one which was inside of the first ring spun clockwise and seemed to move in sync with the normal passage of time for a brief moment before it too began spinning faster then a mortal eye could keep up with it. Those still watching would suddenly see that Thasrissian's image was fading from where it had been then as the rift gained momentum, the fading blur of his image became covered over by the event horizon.

Thas himself was moving at a rapid rate through the air, empowered by the temporal magic he had used. He was moving significantly faster then the rift's edges were traveling, though it seemed by some miracle the rift wasn't moving as fast as it originally had been before the gray dragon had attempted to push it back. Time he had bought perhaps and when it was all over and things were set right again, Thas intended to take that time to find a nice spot on some isolated beach and snooze out in the sun. In the meantime though he raced around the edge of the rift towards anyone he was able to save sending them though a portal to his own realm. During this time he spotted Sharla attempting to out run the rift on the horse she had 'borrowed' and darted down towards her attempting to scoop both her and the horse up off the ground.

If he had been successful in his attempt Thas would then continue on towards the palace just minutes ahead of the rift itself. He was looking for anyone left behind and eventually spotted Kaline sprawled out on the ground motionless. His front talons of course were full trying to carefully carry both the horse and Sharla, though only for a brief moment before his friend would find herself sitting up on his neck securely held there by some sort of magic. Once he had a free talon, Thas proceeded to quickly scoop up Kaline and continue off away from the rift. Anyone whom Thas managed to spot along the way would find a portal open up under their feet, dropping them gently into his own realm where it was certainly much safer.

She had bee riding hard not sure she was going to me when a shadow passed over her she looked up at the large figure as she was lifted up into dragon claws claws she knew and she hugged his claws in thanks. However her and the horse clearly not the only ones to need a rescue.

She saw Kaline from the secured of his claws and looked to her horse who snorted uneasily and was giving Sharla the evil eye s if this was all some how her fault he had been contently chewing his oats before the she elf showed up. Next thing she knew she was straddling Thas's neck. This was awkward for she was indeed very fond of him and loved him even if he did not feel the same way about her and yet in her mind it was sacrilegious to ride a noble dragon.

She shoed the thoughts aside they could be handled latter for now there were the little details like staying alive. She watched as the earth blow her split and crumbled like stale crackers. She watched a place where she had spent countless adventures consumed. It gnawed at her and she pressed her face against Thas's scales and wept her fingers gripping tightly even as the magic held her.

She sent up a prayer to Selune and indeed any god that would hear her that souls of those who died today find peace and that this horrible thing could be stopped and perhaps one day they might rebuild. This place was not her home sadly but it still meant a lot to her. There were memories here. Good bad and indifferent.

Many faces and names came to mind. She wondered how many of them had or were escaping... yet in her heart she felt a feeling of loss a dark day for some had died, some were taken from them. This was a dark day indeed.

Cirdan fell through the air at rapid succession he watched and smiled as he saw his friend capture and rescue Sharla and Kaline from the rift, as if weather by luck or chance had it the rift soon came upon the Palace at rapid succession he closed his eyes and prayed to whatever gods may be listening for forgiveness. He closed his eyes as he accepted the inevitable embrace of death. He welcomed it immediately he knew they would survive the coming storm, the Empire was in ruin but he knew it would eventually be rebuilt, he knew Lazuli will restore order and the balance.

----------------------------------------------
A voice echoed upon his mind ‘’ this shall not be your tomb, this is not your destiny ‘’ it whispered upon Cirdans mind as the rift enclosed upon the palace he soon fell through the rift, his eyes closed unaware. His surroundings became dark his body numb, he felt darkness creep upon his body a coldness and then silence. Inside the rift sounded like rushing waterfalls all around , surrounding him as it sucked him in the rift…he fell

The stars that shot down upon the mortals eyes little was known Cirdan was amongst the stars, he fell down landing upon the beach like a meteor striking the ground, his spirit flew within a kal’dorei warrior that happened to lay helplessly upon Dark shores as the elementals raged there wars against the other warriors there. He soon woke up with newfound life and newfound energy he had never known before, he looked upon his hands as he realized they were different from his normal pale skin he turned them around and got up.

His weapon lay to the side; he was knocked over the head it seemed perhaps by an Elemental that drifted upon the shores, when he sat up brushing himself off trying to get his bearings straight. He realized he was no longer home, no longer to his beloved Empire, he struggled to stand up found himself weakened tremendously he had no power at this point not within this world.

He turned to regard the scene now as he lay there helplessly unsure what to do, the sun beating down upon his face as he shielded his eyes. He listened to the sounds of the ocean wash against the shore, and the sounds of battle… he felt himself get lifted up and dragged away though he did nothing to stop him not a word could be said. ‘’ We get a healer for you as soon as we enter the Temple ‘’ the women said he understood her clearly her voice melodic. He wanted to thank her for saving him but he could not barely get a word in he was gravely injured.

Drakes presence erupted upon the side of Cirdan. His eyes dark and morbid like always as he tasted the moisture in his mouth. “Weakness is destroyed brother.” Is all Drake told him after he appeared. Moving he left his brothers side and kept advancing up the beach. Speaking as he walked he unraveled many spells till he reached his destination which was upon the highest hill on the beach. As he spoke the elements acknowledged his voice, moving and shifting upon word a hard sand castle erupted from its grave. Small compared to large castles Drake was keeper here. He made his way though hallways and rooms to gain entry to the throne room. This is where Drake took his seat and waited. Surely his brother would have a word with him and he would erupt with the vengeance he had saved for him.
